Board of Directors and Nicola Valley Chiefs Meeting:

The Board has arranged a meeting with the Chiefs of the Nicola Valley to follow up with recommendations from the Annual General Meeting.

Goal is to work on declaration for the society, and work plan for the future planning of Child Welfare.

The committee is working towards a preventative program and a more unique planning on ways to provide protection services.

For “Nation Building” we have to work with our communities.  We never lay blame we just move forward and make changes that will work for our programs and services.

Questions we all  should ask are:

What will it take to move forward?

What can I do better?

What steps do we need to take to make changes that are needed?

1993 there is no mandate revision what is our mandate now?

The Nicola Chiefs are in favor of putting in “policy” that reflects good child welfare.  This will mean we now have to answer the question to what laws we talk about.  What community

Chiefs are now no longer leading the past but will Lead the future!

Future planning and short/long term goals have been developed at the chiefs meeting.

Board of director appointed by Upper Nicola Band:

Fred  (Scotty) Holmes listening as the Chiefs Make recommendations and plan for the future.
