FISCAL PLANNING MEETING
CONSULTANT SERVICES

SCFSS invites proposals for consultant services to facilitate a follow up meeting with Community Chiefs, Board of Directors and Executive Director on proposed date of Saturday, January 7th, 2023 to review SCFSS’ Infrastructure Alignment to include prior years’ fiscal surplus, capital assets and community decisioning regarding future facility space referred to as the “Legacy Project”. The contract will be for deliverables of (a) a fully facilitated Fiscal Planning Meeting, (b) a budgetary report (c) a fiscal addendum report to the Strategic Planning Meeting Report to support SCFSS’ 2023-2024 Work Plan, from the outcome of decisions made at this meeting, and (d) implement recommended revisions to the documents.

COMMUNITY PREVENTION WORKER

The Community Prevention  Worker supports the planning, development, facilitation, and assessment of programs, events, and frontline Community Prevention services in our five (5) bands in the  Nicola Valley. Under the guidance of the Community Services Team Leader, the Community Prevention Worker works directly in one of our band communities to deliver culturally appropriate Prevention services as directed by the community. Communities are experts of themselves and the Community Prevention Worker exercises this expertise and aligns plans to maintain family and community responsibility through strengthening and preserving culture through prevention-focused action, education, and advocacy.

CYMH COUNSELLOR

The Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Counsellor provides clinical mental health services to children and young people in our five (5) band communities and our urban Indigenous community. The CYMH Counsellor uses trauma-informed practice to deliver culturally appropriate and specialized mental health assessment and counselling services to Indigenous children, young people, and their families.

FAMILY PREVENTION TEAM LEADER

The Family Prevention Team Leader will lead a dynamic team in the planning, development, and delivery of the Family Prevention Program supports and services for parents and families. The Family Prevention Team Leader will work collectively with community resources and other teams at SCFSS to support families in all aspects of holistic wellness and relationships. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the Family Prevention Team provides culturally appropriate family preventative services under the nłeʔkepmx and syilx practice frameworks, enhancing family relationships and wellness in the Nicola Valley.

PREVENTION MANAGER

The Prevention Program proactively connects children, young people, and families to community and cultural supports through individual wellness plans, family plans, in-home support, child development, child and youth mental health, and youth preventative services. The Prevention Program seeks to strengthen traditional skills within families; leverage family, individual strengths, and protective factors, and create ongoing opportunities for family members to develop and enhance the quality of life for children, young people, and families.

 

The Prevention Manager is responsible for the oversight and leadership of SCFSS’s Prevention Program. The Prevention Manager works closely and collectively with our five (5) member communities and urban Indigenous community to provide preventative services and supports for our children, young people, and families. The Prevention Manager is responsible for program development and providing strategic leadership and direction to five (5) Team Leaders and one (1) Assistant under the Prevention Program.

SENIOR FINANCE CLERK

The Senior Finance Clerk provides information to SCFSS employees on financial procedures, policies, and understanding of financial information. The incumbent conducts internal audits and assessments in coordination with the Financial Analyst, and works closely with all members of the Finance Team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The Youth Outreach Worker is responsible for the engagement of at-risk youth and their families in the Nicola Valley. The Youth Outreach Worker supports young people in accessing opportunities to stabilize their lives and achieve holistic wellness. The Youth Outreach Worker works collectively with the SCFSS Youth Team and community organizations for referral services for at-risk youth. The Youth Outreach Worker supports youth in accessing services, acting as an advocate and liaison to engage youth with support services.
