About Us
FAMILY CIRCLES
Family Decision Making uses an Indigenous approach in which care of and decision making for children was considered the natural responsibility of the extended family and community as a whole. It is a meeting where members of a child’s immediate family come together with extended kin and members of the child’s community who are, or might become, involved to develop a plan for care or address any family issues in a preventative manner.
Families are able to make the best decisions for themselves. This brings responsibility back to the family and ensures they are making plans that work for them and incorporates their own support network.
